About

Hybrid classes are a combination of instruction and student participation occurring in-person in a traditional classroom on one of Waubonsee's four campuses and also occurs asynchronously or synchronously online. Required in-person and synchronous online sessions occur on scheduled days. In general, at least ⅓ of a course is delivered asynchronously or synchronously online.

*In event of emergency closing (due to health concerns, safety concerns, and/or directives from a governing body), in-person sessions may be replaced with synchronous online sessions through Zoom.

Most hybrid courses are split 50:50 between in-person meetings and asynchronous or synchronous online.

  • Example A: Students attend class in-person once a week and also complete work asynchronously online each week.
  • Example B: All in-person meetings are scheduled during the first eight weeks. The second eight weeks are delivered completely asynchronously or synchronously online.
